A Positive Impact
Our assignment was to impact someone in a way that made them feel a little bit better. I chose to do my mom, the first thing I did for her was to let her watch me do homework. That was something that she had said she had wanted to do with me. I had been very busy lately and had not had very much time. This was at the same time when my dad went overseas. The second thing that I did for her was to spend time with her and have coffee with her. This was good to slow down and just talk about what was going on in our lives. The last thing I did for my mom was write her a note and left it one her keurig, I did this for her because receiving notes are her love language.
Something I learned from this project is that small actions could make more of a difference than a grand gesture. Also, when you do something nice for someone else it impacts you as much as it does the other person. When I was able to spend time with my mom it was good to pause and just relax. It was also good to see my mom's reaction.
